Rx 7800 xt issues.

My PC and the issues with RX 7800 XT

I built my first PC in October 2024 with the following components:

CPU: AMD 5 7600

GPU: RX 7800 XT

RAM: 32 GB Corsair 6400Hz

PSU: Gigabyte 650W 80+ Gold

SSD: M.2 Kingston

Since building the PC, I’ve been experiencing GPU-related issues. Here’s what I’ve encountered:

Games that run without problems:

Roblox – No issues.

Minecraft – No issues.

Games with crashes:

Fortnite – Constant crashes (blue screen or freezes).

Marvel Rivals – Crashes.

CS:GO – Initially had crashes but now runs stable.

Black Ops 6 – Worked fine at first but later started crashing with blue screens.

Final Fantasy 16 – Increasing crashes after 1 hour of gameplay, needing Task Manager to force close.

What I’ve tried to fix the issue:

Installing the latest drivers – Did not fix issues with Fortnite and newer games.

Installing older drivers – My PC crashed, reporting driver incompatibility.

Reinstalling Windows (without a USB stick) – After wiping all data and reinstalling drivers, the issue persisted.

Using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) – Did not solve the problem.

Installing the 23.9.1 driver (more stable) – The problem remained, and the older driver might be incompatible with newer games.

Configuring XMP/EXPO settings – I enabled XMP/EXPO for my RAM, but the issue persists.

What I’ve already tested:

Clean driver installation – Used DDU, but the problem persists.

Reinstalling games – Reinstalled the problematic games, but crashes continue.

Monitoring temperatures – CPU and GPU temperatures stay below 70°C, ruling out overheating as the cause.

Installing a stable driver (23.9.1) – Installed a recommended stable driver, but the issue wasn’t resolved.

Configuring XMP/EXPO settings – The RAM runs at optimized parameters, but the crashes still happen.

I hope this list helps someone facing a similar issue. If you have suggestions or solutions, I’m open to any recommendations!

Hello,

First thing you should try is running your ram at stock which is 4800/5200mhz

So try disabling EXPO/XMP completely because it is well known for Ryzen 7000 having difficulty running ram at 6200-6400mhz

If its already off test your memory with a memory tester software or use windows memtest
