RX 6700xt stutters

The last month or so I’ve noticed I seem to be getting really inconsistent frame rates/stutters in games with my 6700xt. For example if I leave it uncapped in valorant it jumps around from 500 to 600 fps but if I cap it to anything there’s drops and it can’t hold a consistent frame rate even as low as 100. I’ve set a min frequency I’ve reinstalled all drivers and windows, rolled back drivers, restored everything to factory settings and nothing has helped. It’s especially noticeable if there’s a lot of movement on screen. My specs are:

6700xt

5600x

16gb 3600mhz ram (trident)

asus x570 prime p mobo

ssd drives

hope someone can help im completely out of ideas.

Has it been stuttery for the entire time you had the PC or is it a recent development? Did you change anything around the same time it started, install drivers etc?

Thanks for the reply, It’s been a recent ish development I hadn’t really changed anything and I’ve done a fresh install of windows. It might be due to high dpc latency which I found in latencymon I’ve managed to eliminate all the dpc latency I had by uninstalling all drivers but I’m unsure which previous driver to install as I’ve already tried 4 different ones.

Many people started having issues after 22.11.2 so I would start there.

Did you use DDU?

Yeah I’ve used DDU every time I’ll try the version you said now and see how it goes, thanks again.

Just installed to that version tried altering all in game settings and still getting stutters unfortunately at capped and uncapped frame rates.

Does your GPU have more than one 8 pin connector? If so you should make sure it is using two separate cables and not the one cable to power both connectors.

It was connected with one I swapped it to two and retried but no improvement, then tried an even earlier driver but still no progress

Are your chipset drivers up to date? I'm just guessing at this point to be honest.

If this were my case, I would first disable Windows ability to update the drivers. Windows drivers have been broken for a while now. Solved: How to stop updates for drivers with Windows Updat... - AMD Community

Next I would use DDU to remove all display drivers, you may need to run it twice since you previously had an Nvidia GPU. After restarting my system I would then install the last working drivers from https://www.amd.com/en/support

You can view previous drivers here https://www.amd.com/en/support/previous-drivers/graphics/amd-radeon-6000-series/amd-radeon-6700-seri...

Please report your findings using the Adrenalin bug report tool or use this link https://www.amd.com/en/forms/contact-us/support.html

Are you using individual power cables to power the GPU or are they just multiple connectors on one cable? This can lead to poor performance on some GPUs.

with MPO enable things are worst!!

To re-enable MPO delete the registry file you created. https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/yvyqc7/disabling_multiplane_overlay_mpo_fixed_all/?rdt=54273

You can find the MPO registry files here.
