RX 6700 AMD Adrenalin Edition computer slowdown issue

I am an RX 6700 user, and every time I install AMD Adrenalin Edition, my computer slows down. I am using Windows 11. Do you have any solutions or recommendations? (I tested my RAM and CPU, and no issues were found; I also reinstalled the operating system twice).

How exactly does it slow down? And which version of Adrenalin are you installing?

My computer has generally slowed down, whether it's opening applications or playing games—everything feels slow overall. I have AMD Adrenalin Edition version 24.10.1 installed, and I've done all the Windows updates except for the preview updates. I've also applied the optional driver updates. I previously did two clean reinstalls, but nothing changed. The computer slows down after installing AMD Adrenalin Edition, and this situation is really frustrating. I even used DDU to uninstall and reinstall the graphics card driver, but the problem persists.

Did you try older versions of the driver? Also, like @atmosphere said, it's possible that windows update is doing something weird like replacing or double-installing different drivers, try doing a clean Adrenalin reinstall with windows update turned off.

Also, does your CPU have integrated graphics? Could be an issue with that, perhaps try disabling the integrated graphics if you have them.

The truth is, when I switch back to the old graphics driver, the slowdown goes away. I started to think that the problem was caused by missing drivers, but I don't know how to find out which driver is missing, and I made all the updates except the Windows Update Preview.

Did you update chipset drivers? And do you have sam or rebar enabled in bios?

I updated the chipset drivers, I don't know what sam and rebar are enabled in the bios mean. Bios is up to date.

I looked at what you mentioned on the internet and did it, no change.

Good you now ruled our most of the common things .. could you look in device manager, select you graphics card, click the driver tab and tell us the drivers version you see there?

Driver Provider: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.

Advanced Version: 32.0.12019.1028

Sorry for the late reply…

back to topic.. had to check version but it look good at first glance.
now assuming there are no major issue showing in eventvwr.msc application or system logs (filter on warnings, error and critical) and you have no issue with an older driver version there could be a mismatch with runtime libs or system locked driver files.

have you tried the driver only option when installing.. I know you want adrenaline as well, though it might point us in a certain direction of what piece of software is causing slowdowns

Is windows updated (that being both recommended and critical)?

If unsure pls check WU -》advanced options -》updates for MS software, should be enabled.

Also it could be an issue where WU keeps replacing the driver with the one from windows update...

Did you try a clean install?? Removing drivers & profiles?

And please describe what slows down .. desktop or only when in games?

My computer has generally slowed down, whether it's opening applications or playing games; everything has slowed down overall. I have AMD Adrenalin Edition version 24.10.1 installed, and I’ve done all the Windows updates except for preview updates. I also installed the optional driver updates. I’ve done a clean reinstall twice before, but nothing has changed. The computer slows down whenever I install AMD Adrenalin Edition, which is really frustrating. I even used DDU to uninstall the graphics driver and reinstalled it, but the issue persists. However, when I roll back to an older driver version from the Device Manager, everything goes back to normal.

I been having the same problem since I installed windows 11 24H2, but only happens when playing Fallout 76 and the Memory clock crashes, is not reporting the clock speed to either Adrenalin nor GpuZ or any software that reads hardware like HwInfo64 too, and it happens with 24.10.1 version and previous ones too
