RX 6500XT 8gb PCIe 3.0 constant stuttering FC4

Hello I just bought an RX 6500XT 8GB to play new games. Below are my specs-

CPU- R3 3300X

MOBO- MSI B450M PRO VDH MAX (bios B.M0)

RAM- 16GB DDR4

PSU- CX550

GPU- RX 6500XT 8GB Asrock phantom gaming (Driver 24.12.1)

OS- Windows 10 x64

I switched from GTX 1650 D6 to RX 6500xt 8gb. I used DDU to remove Nvidia gpu drivers before installing new graphics card. All games like BF 2042 and Borderlands 3 are running without issues but in FC4 I get constant never ending stuttering. Is it due to PCIe 3.0 ? I have seen benchmarks of people playing FC5 on 6500XT with PCIe 3.0 motherboards on youtube and there it had no stutters. Is the only solution to get new mobo ? I don't have money to buy new one now. I thought 8gb VRAM will nullify the PCIe speed bottleneck. Please refer to the attached image from the game. The GPU clocks also drop very low when the stutters happen (as low as 40MHz). I tried older drivers like 24.5.1 and 23.8.2 but it stutters with those too. The power limit is maxed out in AMD driver settings custom mode.

I tested Far cry 4 on gtx 1650 with PCIe 3.0 x4 mode and it never stutters( due to 128 bit memory bus width ?)

@Ray_AMD  what might be the issue ?

I paid 15% restocking fee and sent back the trash 6500XT 8gb

AMD ,your GPUs have issue running Far Cry 4 on PCIe x4 mode, i remember using my RX 460 4gb on PCIe 3 x4 mode and it behaved the same way.

Shame on you AMD !

For making 6500XT

Nvidia drivers are superior because even on PCIe 3.0 x4 mode GTX 1650 ran perfectly smooth in Far Cry 4.

I will now buy the RTX 3050 6gb because that is what i can afford and it has x8 PCIe lanes with a 96 bit bus.  Merry christmas and new year to the AMD community, @FunkZ  thanks for all the replies, i will buy Nvidia again !!

The 6500XT is not an upgrade over a GTX 1650. They get about the same performance IF the 6500XT is run at PCIe 4.0 because it's limited to only 4x lanes. As you've discovered, running it at PCIe 3.0 gets you worse performance.

Check out the performance of the 8 gig version in hardware unboxed video where he compares vram size and also rtx 3050 6gb review.

The 8gig version can play cyberpunk 2077 at medium preset without fsr getting 33fps in the most demanding scenes of phantom liberty dlc ( I played on pcie 3.0) .The 1650 d6 couldn't even do low without fsr quality in cp 2077 phantom liberty. Now i can also play avatar and starfield.

Important point - As for the performance drop thing, i ran 1650 at x4 mode pcie 3.0 and it did not stutter in FC4 whereas the 6500xt got 60fps but unplayable stuttering as shown in image i posted.

The 6500XT released 2 years ago during the GPU shortage when anything in stock would sell. It's not a good graphics card, you can make an argument for it if you want, but you'd be arguing with every reviewer who did a 6500XT review.

Good luck with your card.

I already saw that GN review, i follow him too.

But you haven't read anything i wrote above, have you ? Don't be lazy dude, if you want to help someone out, you read their full problem.

the stutters happen even on lowest settings at 1280x720 resolution with frame rate locked to 40 through AMD driver (FRTC).

Is it really a PCIe bottleneck ?
