So i got rx 480 from my friend, he bought it at launch but doesnt know if its 4gb or 8gb edition. How can i know if it is without plugging it in or opening it up? Here are some pics of it.
Here is the sticker. Can anyone see if its 8gb with locked bios or normal 4gb?
There must be another sticker with the Serial number or part number or model number.
I tried to find out if those numbers is a serial or model number or part number or combination of but with no luck.
But by the photo your posted is seems to be an Asus RX480 Dual Fan either 4 GB or 8GB GPU card. I don't believe no other manufacturer has a GPU card with a white cowl.
This is how the Asus RX480 4 GB GPU card looks like:
I checked Asus Warranty Search and none of those numbers were good. So there must be another sticker with the correct information needed to find out which GPU Card you have.
The easiest way is to install it and run GPU-Z which will tell everything you need to know about the GPU card.
DUAL-RX480-O4G | Graphics Cards | ASUS USA I searched hard and I'd bet my former RX 5600 XT it's a 4GB. It's the only model they made with 2 fans and a white cover. All the same. 8GB has 3 fans usually or a black cover from ASUS. To be sure, plug it in, if it works after being on carpet and having the heatsink removed before as per the warranty sticker damaged.

The reason why I mentioned it could also be a 8GB model is because both look identical. Here is Asus RX480 Dual Fan 8GB GPU card:
Compare with the image I post in my last reply showing the 4 GB model.
I forgot to reference/kudo you! You found an identical item first. I went and found 3 more to be certain, it's a 4GB.
