So I've had this issue in Fallout 4 where certain textures will start appearing as speckled rainbow messes (here's an example: https://i.imgur.com/kHMtbWH.jpg ). I was never able to find a solution. From what I've read the issue is specific to r9 280/290 architecture, so out of frustration I tabled the game to wait for the proper drivers or fixes or whatnot to be created. It's been well over a year, has this problem been addressed yet? If so, what is it?
So when will AMD fix your texture problems in games existing for the last half a decade?
It's a game settings issue (been so long I don't recall which settings combo caused it).
IIRC, the fix was in steam community guides.
Not really, I've been trying to solve this issue with settings and even
replacing the vanilla textures from the base game up to the DLCs (changing
the BA2 texture containers completely with Fallout4 Texture Optimzation
Project Mod) and the problem persists.
Vanilla Untouched - 16.5GB (13 BA2 Texture Files)
Optimized Untouched - 9.65GB (13 BA2 Texture Files)
NOTE: Used Texture Mods to completely optimize and unleash better
performance and improved visuals in some aspects.
1. Texture Optimization Project
2. Optimized Vanilla Textures
3. Vivid Landscapes All in One
I now use these settings which minimized the rainbow glitch but after 3-4
hours of gameplay, you'll notice them starting appearing especailly with
reflection cubes.
bForceUpdateDiffuseOnly=0
iTextureUpgradeDistance1=2400
iTextureUpgradeDistance0=1200
iTextureDegradeDistance1=3000
iTextureDegradeDistance0=1600
I am also using a couple of performance mods that helps me further squeeze
optimization (just to help my cpu usage at 70-100% always).

Did you ever find a solution?
I grabbed Fallout 4 on sale and noticed this on trees and bushes (so far).
With the RX580's 5 second lag I haven't been updating drivers (still on 18.3.4) and I just got the game so haven't been paying attention to what's fixed in newer driver releases.
As Goodplay mentions, I'll look again in the steam community for a settings issue.
No, never found a solution. Search and you'll find several "rainbow glitch
solution" videos, but they're all crap. Congratulations on your purchase. I
hope you enjoy glaring eyesores or restarting your game every 20-30
minutes.
Thanks for replying to this necro thread. So far it's just leaves in one area and it's not a big deal yet. I'll keep trying different settings.
