Radeon VII and Davinci Resolve 16 or 15

Experiencing slow boot up time of Footage in the timeline and media thumbnails of Project file on initial start up with Resolve.  I remember loading projects was almost instant.  Now I have 2 Radeon VII and slow loading times.

Footage type:

Project 1: DJI phantom 4 4k 60 fps

Project 2: Gh5 4k 10 bit 24 fps

Also ... are there any recommendation settings for the Radeon in the software settings to optimize program?  Resolves comes up in game settings.

System:

windows 10

2950x threadripper

Radeon VII x 2

64gb memory

Hi! I have a same problem. My radeon vii causing slower UI/Playback in Resolve 16.1.1 (and 16, 16.1) :/ The rendering/exoprting speed is good but the playback ony 19fps if i enable the "play all frames" checkbox....

i tried:

- Enable HMBC
- install from the oldest to the newest amd driver
- clean windows install
- enable/disable every checkbox in resolve and radeonsettings:)
- set maximum performance in windows energy management

I dont know what is the problem :/

My previous card was a nvidia gtx titan and the playing was smooth...

My config: asus z9pe-d8 ws, 2xXeon2687w v2, 32gb ram, raid0 and ssd’s

Thsnk you, Feri

Still the same problem for me,  at work we have Imac Pro which as a amd card but not Radeon VII so it may be just an issue with this card.  Well we will see I have an RTX2080ti coming this week to replace.

Same issue here, I have RX5600XT and it doesn't show any video preview and doesn't play any codec footage in Davinci 17.

But my old Radeon Pro WX4100 works fine.

Hopefully AMD will address this issue soon.
