Pc Stutter and freezing when using vlc, or windows media player

Been having issues with trying to watch videos on my pc with vlc, and windows media player with dual monitors. When i unplug one monitor it works fine, and sometimes its fine if i watch it on the main monitor. Problem started happening recently, and doesn't always happen (more consistent now). My setup is 5800x, 6800xt, 16gb ddr4, nvme. My main monitor is 2k 165hz, on DP connection, the second is 1080p, 144hz, on HDMI. No stuttering or freezing when watching videos on a web browser, and no excessive stuttering with gaming, only when trying to watch something on vlc, regardless of what it is. If i leave it alone, it goes black screen, and a crash report for amd wattman pops up.

Hmmm... Can you try MPC-HC (you can download one with K-Lite codec pack)

This player is really smooth for me. So i want to know is this wmp or vlc engine issue or your setup
Also try disconnecting one or other monitors to check if this combo causes problems for you.

As another troubleshooting step, force off vertical synchronisation globally.
As another step- disable MPO
As another step - clean windows and driver reinstall
As another step - check cables for quality. Bad quality cables can cause interference and signal loss. But driver crash isn't a thing that should be happening in this case
As another step try disabling HDCP support in display settings (in Adrenalin --> Display --> Overrides)
