Hello, i recently buyed a new pc and i buildt it myself.

Here the spec :
Motherboard : ASUS TUF GAMING B650M-E WIFI (MATX)
CPU : Ryzen 7 7800X3D
RAM : 2x16 Corsair Vengeance 6000Mhz CL30
GPU : ASRock Phantom Gaming RX 7900XT
PSU: Corsair 850W
Case : Zalman P30

The problem :
So when i start my computer with DP plug in my GPU there is no display. When launched with my DP plug into motherboard it work but it does not detect my GPU and its using my iGPU. (Radeon Graphic TM)

What i tried :

1. pluged my DP cable to my motherboard and instaled lastest windows version and lastest drivers.

• 2. checked multiple time if my card was correctly plug into the motherboard and if all the cables where correctly plug in.

• 3. updated the BIOS to the lastest version.

• 4. plugged my old graphic card (RX 5600XT) into and it worked perfectly (display and detected in task manager).

• 5. plugged my new graphic card (RX 7900XT) into the old pc (with Gigabyte Aorus B450) and it didn't work (still no display).

• 6. unintalled all driver with DDU, and reinstalled

If anyone can help me with that it will be very appreciate. Thx!

Edit : Also i figure out that with my old GPU plug in, my performance are very bad (idk why) but in minecraft for example i have only 20-40 fps while on my previous pc i had like +200fps

Sorry to hear your card is not working.

First, let's try to determine if your card is getting power.

1. Did you have 2 separate (not daisy-chained) PSU cables connected to your new GPU in the new PC (and the old PC)?
2. Is the old PC's PSU powerful enough for the new GPU?
3. Are you using the correct PSU cables for the GPU?
4. If your PSU is fully or partially modular, are the PSU => GPU cables connected correctly (PSU side to the PSU and GPU side to the GPU)?
5. When you boot the PC, do the new GPU's fans spin at all? Does the GPU's RGB light up? Typically the fans should spin at full speed briefly while the BIOS is loading.

Second, let's troubleshoot your old GPU getting bad performance on your new PC.

1. When you installed your old GPU into your new PC, did you do a DDU uninstall of the new GPU drivers then install the old GPU drivers? (Trying to determine if your mobo's PCI-e slot is bad or if the slow performance was due to a driver issue).
2. Same questions about the PSU => GPU cables being in the correct orientation.

Last, here's some general troubleshooting steps:

1. Does your new GPU have a BIOS switch on it? If so, try switching it to the "other" BIOS option.
2. Have you tried the other video ports on your new GPU?
3. Have you tried setting the default / initial video output device in your BIOS?

1. I have only have one daisy chained PSU cable connected to the GPU (but i can plug a different one if wanted)
2. Yes i guess, it was 650W PSU
3. Yes, Pcie cables
4. My PSU is fully modular, i think it is correctly connected. I'll check again just after writing this.
5. Fans dont spin (i heard it is normal for AMD GPU, they only start spinning when the GPU is heating?) and GPU's RGB light are working.

1. I don't know what you mean by that. But the only button i can see on the GPU is a switch (ON/OFF) for the RGB leds

3. I tried switching from IGPU Video to PCIE Video. They were the only settings i could find in the BIOS

1. Go ahead and try connecting 2 separate PSU cables to the GPU
2. Minimum recommended is 750W, so that may be why it didn't work on the old PC, but it's not a guarantee
3. Good

5. My RX 6800 spins at full speed for a few seconds during initial boot, once Windows starts loading it goes to 0 RPM per the settings. It's possible the 7000 series is different -- maybe someone else can confirm.

Second

1. No DDU install might be why your old GPU had bad performance on your new PC. Try a DDU install for your old GPU on your new PC to rule out the PCIe slot being defective.

Last

1. If there's no switch on the side of the GPU somewhere around the power connections, then you probably don't have a BIOS switch.
2. Ok
3. I have the same settings in my BIOS and it is set to PCIE.

Next steps

1. Verify you installed the latest chipset drivers from AMD
2. Verify the new mobo PCIe slot is good by doing a DDU install of your old GPU with its' respective drivers from AMD. In theory it should perform as good if not better than in your old pc.
3. If #1 is successful, try the new GPU in the new PC with 2 separate PCIe cables.

1. Connecting 2 separate PSU cables didn't worked. Still no display

2. My old GPU fans aren't spinning as well so i can confirm that it is normal.

3. I did uninstall all driver with DDU and install lastest driver for my RX5600XT and it did not improve my performance. I can see in task manager that there is still the iGPU detected as well as my old GPU but when i play i still got 30fps and my old GPU is not using itself at 100% but only 54-60% ans isn't using all the RAM but only 1,5G out of 6. (I played very modded minecraft so it should use more than that)

4. You said "Verify the new mobo PCIe slot is good by doing a DDU install of your old GPU with its' respective drivers from AMD", i don't understand perfectly what u mean cause my english is too bad, but i guess i did it right? i installed lastest driver for my old GPU

5. I also triedcleaning CMOS by removing it for 5 minute and power drain my computer by pressing the power button for 30 second. It didn't worked

3. That is strange. Can you try a different game and see if performance is more normal?

More Questions

1. Did you install your Chipset drivers from AMD's site or from your mobo's site? I've heard AMD Chipset drivers should be installed from AMD's site rather than your mobo's site for best results. https://www.amd.com/en/support/download/drivers.html
2. Did you check the PCIe slot for any debris, dust, hair, etc?

It seems like the PCIe slot / mobo isn't working 100%, the 7900xt is dead, or both.

Sorry for the late reply, i live in France so i was night when u replied.

Yes i did install my drivers from amd's site and i checked if my PCIe slot were clean
At this point, i'm just wondering if it's either my GPU or my motherboard that is dead to know wich one i shoul d replace. I'm going to see a professional today, he'll do a diagnostic on my pc.

I agree, it seems like the mobo, the GPU, or both.

You absolutely need two separate cables running to the GPU for power. No daisy-chain. I don't know why manufacturers still make this style cable. People get confused with it.

You need at least 850w for your system. 

Could be something as simple as you need a new HDMI or display port cable with the new card.

I tried with two separate cable but it does not change anything and i actually have an 850W PSU.
Also my cables are fine cause it work well with my old computor so idk

Are you using a riser cable?

Have you tried another PCI-e slot?

Do you know RAM is good? Maybe try one stick to see if you can boot.

What is a riser cable?
My motherboard is a MATX there is only one PCIe slot, but i tried on my old computer and it didn't worked
Yes, i tried with only one RAM stick and it didn't worked too

Riser cable allows the GPU to stand up to see the front of the card. I'm just not sure what it is. My knowledge only goes so far. lol

Thx you, but as i said, i think either the motherboard or the GPU is dead, anyway, i gave my pc to a professional 1hour ago, he will tell what's wrong. Thanks again!
