Hi!

Since I instaled this Radeon RX 6900 XT in my PC, I have multiple problems.

1. I got blackscreen at least once a day. For instance, today, PC was running fine all day for my son. Tonight, move mouse, access Chrome, open a couple of pages, and boom! Black screen. Only way to turn off computer is to switch off and on the PSU, then, starting the PC. Takes like 2 minutes from there, and clock is set to midnight when Windows is started.
2. Right now, in Radeon Software, I see maybe some unusual things related to PCI-E. In "Settings - System - More details" from Hardware section, I see that Bus Type is PCI Express 4.0. But Current Bus Settings is set to PCI Express 3.0 x8, which is unusual since I have inserted GPU in right slot, and currently have Aorus Master X570.
3. On performance side, I run my PC stock. No overclocking at all. But still got crappy FPS. For instance, I play Baldur's Gate 3, and got an average FPS of 32.6, which is not very impressive.

Any idea what could cause all my problems?

I would really like to speak with "AMD Customer's service", but I'm not even sure if it exists.

Is there a monitor connected to the 3400g, mobo bios set to pcie 4.0, initial display first set to the 6900, 3400g graphics disabled ?

Two separate pcie 8 pin cables to the graphics card ?

A single monitor is connected to RX 6900 XT. APU deactivated in settings. I have two separate cable from PSU to GPU.

I had a Ryzen 9 series 5000 laying around. Was not sure if it would be wise to install it with PGU problem. I decided to install it, as suggested by other community helper. So far, it runs smoothly. It fixed the problem in Radeon software with PCI E showing 3 instead of 4 for my GPU.

1. Do you have the possibility to try another, maybe stronger, PSU? I noticed the most problems in low load situations (with high spikes up like opening a tab or change from 2D to 3D...)

2. Bus Settings will vary, depends on energy settings and load, you will see it changing all the time depends on load when opening gpu-z for example.

3. I think BG3 is highly cpu limited in this scenario but i'm not 100% sure cause i dont own the game.

if clock set to midnight i would think there is a problem with the motherboard ... or any hardware causing problem with motherboard

Motherboard was running fine when I had only APU running. Problem occured when I started using 6900xt. Changed CPU to a Series 5000. So far, it fixed the PCI Express x16 issue.

Will try a couple of games tonight and see performance.

Hard to get a PSU stronger than the one I have, honestly. It would be overkill. As written, I changed CPU to a Series 5000. So far, seems correct. I was afraid to install it since I had no clues about my GPU problems. Maybe a compatibility issue with older CPU and newer AMD GPU.

The Ryzen 5 3400G is a Zen+ chip.  It does not support PCIe 4.0, and it only has eight lanes for the slot. 

It's a very unusual pairing for a 6900 XT, to say the least, as you will be bottlenecked by the CPU in a great many games, very likely including the one you mentioned.

You'll need a CPU upgrade to take advantage of that 6900 XT.  A Ryzen 5000 series chip would be best, but anything from the R5 3600 and up will be a big improvement.

I think you have something here. I have actually a Series 5000 CPU I installed. So far, it's very good. I didn't thought about the fact that this older CPU would not support PCI-E. And just doing so, it fixed my NVME PCI E 4 which had poorly performances.

Now, I'm in par with benchmark.

You should be fine with a 4 core 8 thread processor for that game. 
I am still running i7-4770K / 4790K processors and they are OK for gaming. 

Not everything needs an 8 `core/16 thread or 16 core/ 32 thread monster CPU. 
In fact most games don't. 

Your Ryzen 5 3400G is about the same CPU gaming performance as an Intel I7-4770K. 

As for PCIe 4.0 x16 for gaming - that is not needed. .
PCIe 3.0x8 is more than enough bandwidth for gaming - even at 4K Ultra.  I run at that speed all the time.

• Additional Notes: Default API is Vulkan 1.1. Directx11 API also provided. The recommended requirements might decrease over the course of Early Access, as performance improves.
  
  Sure a 6900XT + Ryzen 5 3400G is unusual combination.
  But it should work ok for that game.
