Ive recently bough a second-hand rx6700xt and was loving it, until it started black screening on occasions while alt-tabbing in or out of, so far, windowed borderless tabs. Whenever i first got it, i made sure to uninstall the Nvdia drivers from my pc when i had the 1650 Super in. I installed the 6700, went to amd, put my card info in, drivers installed without a problem, left it on default settings. I have tried using DDU to wipe the gpu drivers and reinstall them. After that it still happens. This doesnt happen with the 1650 so ik its either a fault in the card or driver issues, i dont know which or what else to do abt it.
System specs:
Cpu: Ryzen 5 4600G
Gpu: Vertical mount 6700xt
RAM: 2x8GB Corsair vengeance 3200mhz + 2x4gb stock HP 2333hz (yes im aware its capped to the 2333hz, i would rather have the extra memory)
SSD: KBG40ZNV256G KIOXIA
HDD: ST31000528AS
Good day!
Download from the Microsoft website and install the DirectX Software Development Kit, launch the DirectX Control Panel and disable the Use Hardware Acceleration checkbox in the DirectDraw tab. Next, restart the PC and check if the black screen errors have disappeared.
I have the same problem after updating with the newly released drivers version 23.2.1 to be exact.
Mixed ram kits, and possibly both sets are not on the motherboard memory QVL would be my first guess.
I had considered this before, but it was never a problem for my 1650 super.
