I recently bought a 3rd monitor and now I'm starting to have some issues with refresh rates.
My main monitor is a 27-inch Acer monitor with 75hz; the new monitor is the same 27-inch Acer with 75hz; the 3rd monitor is a 24-inch Acer with 60hz.
When using only my old 27-inch and the 24-inch monitor they both keep their full refresh rate. When I try plugging in the new 27-inch, the main monitor and the new monitor both reset to 60hz and they show up in the windows settings as 60hz displays.
I tried plugging in only my original display and that also caused it to reset to 60hz meaning that I can only use the full refresh rate of my old 27-inch when also using my 24-inch display at the same time. I tried replacing all of my cables, I tried reinstalling drivers, I tried using active cables instead of normal ones but nothing ended up working.
