If that's an ASUS laptop they may have left that function enabled, though it doesn't serve much of a purpose as it will just cause it to throttle faster due to heat.
So actually it reduces heat and power consumption. Stock voltage is 1225 mV and as you can see I was able to undervolt it to 1155 mV and overclock it to 1050 MHz.
I am using ASUS gpu tweak because it is he only overclocking tool that let's me do this for whatever reason. Even weirder is that to overclock the memory I have to use Sapphire trixx.
