Include your system specs and Adrenalin version, as well as any background info on what may have triggered the event, ie. what was the last thing that changed to make "games no longer run".

My graphics card is the Sapphire AMD Radeon™ RX 7800 XT PULSE
I have AMD Adrenaline Edition 24.6.1

I do not recall changing anything in the software directly prior to the errors beginning. I did move my PC case, but I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything to cause physical damage to components.

The first problem was stuttering on Sea of Thieves, frame rate dropped to about 4 frames a second. I thought it was a laggy server.

Next day, same problem occurs on Rocket League. 

I check the device manager it shows that Microsoft Basic Display Adaptor has taken over control. 

I disabled and uninstalled Microsoft Basic Display Adaptor and downloaded latest drivers for the card using AMD Adrenaline. I updated to the latest version of Windows. I alos updated the AMD Chipset drivers for the motherboard.

The problem got worse. Games now crash on loading. 

I downloaded diagnostic tools but don't really understand what they are telling me.

Sent a crash report to AMD. Raised a ticket with Sapphire. (Told me to test the card in a friend's PC)

I cannot be 100% sure it is the graphics card because there are other weird glitches now, like some other software, with no 3d graphics, will not load (and then load fine after reboot), and Task Manager will crash.

Thanks for the additional info. If you have a spare drive (HDD or SSD) it may be beneficial to take time to swap out your main OS drive and do a fresh install of Windows on the spare drive, to see if that fixes the issues. That way if it doesn't help you can easily go back to your original drive without losing anything except some time troubleshooting.

So I finally got a different SSD in the system. I installed windows 11 home and downloaded Steam then tried 3DMark. It crashed. Then I installed AMD Adrenaline and tried again. It worked and gave me a Good rating on the benchmark report. Tested Rocket League and it works perfectly. 

So what does this mean? 

When I switch back to my main SSD do I need to reinstall everything?

Yes, based on your test results and due to the general applications (even Task Manager) crashing on your original drive it sounds like a fresh install of Windows is the way to go.

When you put your original SSD in also scan it for SMART errors in case it was the drive causing these problems. Most drive manufacturers have a utility that can do this, or use something like CrystalDiskInfo.

After replacing the original SSD everything seemed to work great for about two days (was playing Rocket League no problem) then I tried to run Baldur's Gate 3 and the stuttering returned. I noticed that device manage was showing my display adaptor as the motherboard and not the GPU (again). I donwloaded the latest Direct X drivers. The problem got worse. Now games crash on load or will not load at all and then I get the same glitchy behaviour from Task Manager, and even Chrome crashed a few times. Crystal Disk INfo says that the SSD is Good 100%.

Is this a dud SSD, should I just replace it permanently?

It feels like this is a software issue, but I have no idea really.

Do you have two display adapters showing up in Device Manager? (the 7600 IGP and the 7800XT) or just one? You mentioned disabling the Microsoft Adapter. Is Windows replacing the AMD driver of your 7800 XT with its own generic driver? If that's the case, search on how to prevent Windows Update from replacing your AMD driver.

You have the monitor connected to the 7800XT card, not the motherboard correct?

You can also disable the "AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics" that is the IGP of the processor.

I'm stuck in a loop. I disable the IGP and then Microsoft Basic Display Adaptor takes over. Then I disable Microsoft Basic Display Adaptor and it does nothing, it keeps right on working. 

Device manager claims that the RX 7800 XT is working properly. Why does does the system avoid using it?

UPDATE

I found the EVENT LOG in Device Manager and it seems the RX 7800 XT has been failing to start.

Error text starts: 

Device PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_747E&SUBSYS_475D1DA2&REV_C8\6&2aa3b6c0&0&00000009 had a problem starting.
