Driver 24.10.1 on Radeon RX7600 problem running Fortnite in performance mode.

I’m new to PCs, after I recently installed the driver update 24.10.1 on my Radeon Rx7600 graphics card I can no longer play on performance rendering mode. Prior to the update that’s the only rendering mode I used and it worked fine. After the driver update I have terrible fps drops and stuttering on performance rendering mode and nothing I do will make it work again, I’ve tried clean installing the old drivers after removing the up to date one, clean installed the updated one again, verified files, watched tons of tutorials and tried them to no avail. I don’t like playing on direct12x rendering because of the input delay but it’s the only rendering mode that currently works and it’s not as fast as performance mode (I’ve seen a lot of posts that say it works better than performance mode and it does run smoother but at the cost of more input delay and lower frames per second.) I want to be able to utilize the full potential of my PC and right now this driver is literally holding it back, it worked fine on the last driver so I thought reverting the update would fix it but it didn’t. I’m ready to return this gpu and go buy an nvidia because this is pretty aggravating. I’m a YouTuber and I need my pc to function properly like it was before I updated it and going back to old drivers doesn’t fix the issue at all so what can I do to fix it? Other than going to nvidia which is going to be very soon if I can’t find a solution.

Hi, wecome and i understand your issue, but tip for future use: dont go "im switching to <some>", gives people a bad vibe from you post. I get that you are frustrated, you made a good point that its important too you.. (and end there, people tend to help to who seem to need help more often than a person who could just explode in their faces.

Just a suggestion, take it or leave it...

Now your issue ... i tend to have the feeling that there is version conflict with driver & softwaresuite .. had those with both NV, AMD and most recently Intel

Its possible that with your driver package, windows update decides their WHQL versions are newer or required.  So after you install the driver, at reboot WU installs its driver ..

Speedrun test:

- if you have an other disk with space.. install new os to that disk, update & and do AMD drivers (chipset..reboot..gfx), check updates again..

I apologize if I came off rude i will try your suggestion and let you know if it helps, thank your for your response it truly means a lot that you took your time to help me.

no worries, just i know what you mean... though i have these issues with all brands .. switching does not do anything for mid- and long term..

And as i said.. people, a lot in any case will help when in need.. and with anger (threat to switch) you are not in need of help.

And lol, as i stated, you have a weird issue with the machine.. clean OS can point to a issue on the current machine as in mixed driver packages..

Ive seen installs which only trusted installer was allowed access to a folder of an just installed application..

You might check "eventvwr" and check system and application logs ..
