ASRock RX 5600 XT freesync Flickering, crashing, freezing

Hello,

From the day I've bought that card, i started to have some problems with flickering (mostly) and freezing. The worst thing is happening after switching from fullscreen (game) to desktop. (video example below).

None of updates resolved this problem

FREESYNC ON

rx 5600 xt OC - OFF

My specs:

  • i5-7600k 4.8 Ghz OC (stable)
  • ASRock Radeon RX 5600 XT Phantom Gaming D2 OC 6GB GDDR6
  • 16 GB of ram 3200 mhz G.Skill
  • PSU 500W be quiet!
  • Monitor: Philips 34" Curved UltraWide (349X7FJEW/00) 100 Hz

I have also tried CRU program for freesync refresh rate, but it doesn't works.

Maybe you are also having this kind of problems, and you want to share some solutions

Hi

I can confirm... I have 5700xt paired with this monitor and the same issue with flickering. Unfortunately, the only fix i found is to disable freesync.

I don't know if freezing is caused by poor monitor compatibility, or is it coincidence and just amd driver crashing thing, but i also experienced this issue. But here's some hope. New driver has changed something and instead of getting black screen system freeze with looped audio, now i get driver crash with option to report problems.

Did anyone try reducing the refresh rate to 50/60 hertz and retry?

I did, and it still flickers, though it seems like it flickers a little bit less.

And even accounting for the lowered frame rate, from 100hz to 60hz, where minimum frame rate of freesync
is 48hz and every second frame of 100hz is 50hz makes freesync
not worth on this monitor.
