Hello, I have this graphics card, but with a 400-watt power supply.
When I open a more demanding program, the computer just shuts down with the power light on.
The graphics card is connected with a 6-pin connector to an 8-pin input. Its 6+8 pin card..
I wonder if it will solve the problem if replace the power supply with 8pin connector because this one have only 6pin.

8pin is enough for like 150W but im upgrading Z230 with 18pin port and my psu that i bought has 24pin so i ordered 24 to 18pin adapter
also it comes with i5-4460s on 65w usage
idle wattage of gpu is 32w which is normal for Sapphire Nitro+
You want a 500W psu with pcie 8 & 6 pin cable/connectors.

What make & model psu do you have?
PSU 500 watt minimum. Recommend a 650W - 850W if your budget will allow. Corsair has a holiday special: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/c/psu/atx-power-supply
Yes, the RX 580 REQUIRES an 8 pin plug and draws 185 watts
I bought psu but it has 24 pin and motherboard has 18pin port..so i ordered 24 to 18pin adapter
PSU has only one 6+2pin for gpu so 75w from pcie and 150w from 8 pin equals 225w
Still don't know what motherboard you are using. That I am aware of ALL motherboards will have at least one 6 or 8 pin CPU power plug, AMD or Intel. Make certain you have that connected, the cable I see in the image provided is an 8 pin. I see that it is not a modular PSU and you only have 1 PCIE cable.
I think OP should contact Sapphire Tech support, see what they have to say about only using 1 pcie power connection on his 8 + 6 model.
