AMD Radeon HD 7600M Series drivers still receive updates???

The official support was ended in 2015 and the last official driver is also from 2015.

 

However, I can see there are many websites offering drivers dated even 2024!

 

And Riversoft app has updated my driver to someting from 2022, version 30.0.14023.3004. It works, at least Device manager shows no problems.

 

 

How is this even possible? AMD Catalyst app is from 2015 and it cannot understand the version of the driver lol

The trouble with using 3rd party driver updating software it can install drivers from OEM sources or the hardware manufacturer drivers (AMD). Many times it will install incompatible drivers causing issues with your PC or laptop.

 

Most likely that is a OEM driver or a modified AMD Driver.  Thus it might have different date and version number connected to it.

 

Try googling that driver that was installed and see who the manufacturer is.

 

Looking at both AMD and Microsoft Catalog there are no drivers newer than 2015/2016.

 

This website offers modified newer AMD drivers that works for your unsupported GPU: AmernimeZone Modified AMD drivers 

 

Maybe that is a AmernimeZone Modified AMD driver that was installed.

Hm, thanks, it seems you're right. And it also mean I should better revert to Microsoft driver, as my laptop is HP and this driver is not by HP.

By the way, it looks like without AMD Catalyst app, which is unable to recognize the driver, driver switching may not work correctly, if at all.

If you have a HP laptop I would suggest you download the HP AMD OEM Graphics Driver if it is the same year at AMD Mobile driver (2015/2016) since it would be 100% compatible with your laptop features.

 

If your HP Laptop has a AMD APU Processor you need to download the AMD APU Mobile driver so that it will be compatible with both your IGPU and GPU in your laptop.

 

But if your HP has a Intel processor than you just need to download the GPU Mobile driver and make sure all your Intel Graphics, Chip set drivers are the latest with the latest HP BIOS installed to make the AMD graphics driver more compatible.
