Am I expecting too much out of my 6800 and 5700x3d?

I recently upgraded from a 2060 super with a Ryzen 5 3600 to a xfx 6800 with a 5700x3d and I feel like I haven’t noticed THAT much of an improvement. Should I be able to run a lot of things on ultra?

I’m playing on 1080p!

A 6800 is still a behemoth of a card with 16gb of VRAM, it should smash that 2060 with relative ease since the RX5700 already was on par with a 2070 back then.

Have you got a good PSU for that card? One of my 6800 RoG really likes power and 750 is bare minimum.

What about the rest of the system?

It can be difficult to "notice" how much better an upgrade is without using a benchmark to quantify it.

Whenever I upgrade a component and I'm expecting some improvement I like to run a before and after.

Something like 3DMark will also give you a baseline to compare against similarly configured systems.
