Hi everone,
since upgrading from a 5700XT to a 6700XT, I have been trying to get my work from home setup figured out again. Since I require GPU acceleration for various applicaitons under Linux, I have been trying to make the amdgpu-pro driver work, however, installing the newest (21.10) release does not work for me at all. Therefore I am looking into WSL2 now.
Unfortunately, Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition for Microsoft DirectX on Windows Subsystem for Linux, which is cited in Microsofts WSL2 Docs, does not support my 6700XT. This poses the following two qestions on my end:
- Is there a Version of the Radeon driver for WSL that supports newer GPUS like my 6700XT?
- Or has the WSL functionality been integrated into the standard Radeon driver? Having installed the newest Radeon software, I have not been able to get any GPU acceleration going other than OpenGL in WSL2 under Windows 10
