Sons of the Forest, 100% reproducible crash 7900 XTX
Just reported this driver timeout/crash issue.
System: 7950X, 7900 XTX, Asus Crosshair x670e Hero, 64GB DDR5, Win 11/x64
Drivers: Latest, 23.3.2
No overclocks on anything. No custom Adrenaline profiles, everything stock.
Here are the steps to reproduce this (just did it couple times in a row):
1. Start game (Sons of the Forest on Steam)
2. Graphics settings: Ultra
3. Single Player -> New game
4. Skip all cut scenes
5. After gaining control, move towards a river (water rendering seems to exhibit the issue) step into the water
6. Look around, jump, lay a egg
7. Observe crash
Other folks observing the same issues, seems to be happening a lot with the 7900 XTX specifically.

Side note:
Running this game without issues on my other gaming system:
5950x, 6900xt, 32 GB DDR4, Win11/x64

Bro!! This exact thing has been happening to me! have you found a work around? I decrease water to lowest and all that stuff, but nothing seems to work. I'll run the game for a couple hours and pass by a small stream, then black screen and see a "driver has failed" notification. I have the RX 7900 xtx 32gb ram and i7 12700 cpu.

I need to test it further but I think I solved it. Try lowering the GPU frequency to 90%.

Still having this issue even after the latest update of both AMD driver and the latest patch of SOF.
I've also set water to low. Like other reports, it's when close to running water and notably worse during the winter season.

Sorry for the late reply. If you still have that issue, I got it to work when limiting the fps to exactly 60 (if I remember correctly) from the game menu (no 3rd party app). I don’t have access to my gaming systems right now (on vacation), so I can let say for sure if it was 60 fps, but give it a try and let me know.
