Ryzen 5 2400G`s driver incompatible with Cubase 10

Hello , I am new here. I bought Cubase 10 three weeks ago and I get constant crashes related to ntdll.dll , ucrtbase.dll and graphics2d.dll. This software works for a while but out of the blue it freezes for 1-2 seconds and dissapears from my screen. It happens at random times and I can´t reproduce it again when I re-open the software. Example : I am editing some knobs on an instrument and "poof" ; the program closes itself. I re-open the program and try to make it crash again by playing with the same instrument and nothing happens. Then 5-10 minutes later while I edit some notes on the piano roll it happens again. And so on.

I am using the latest AMD driver for my APU : adrenalin-2019-edition-19.4.1-apr3. So far I tested 4 driver versions without any luck. The program just doesn´t want to function properly on my system. I asked Cubase team for support and they provided a bunch of possible fixes but none of them helped. They say it´s the graphics driver.

Also Cubase is able to create it´s own crash logs when something from inside fails but in my case no such logs are created. The only thing I can find are Windows Event logs :

With the latest Cubase version I get this :

I also installed an older version of Cubase. They say it should be more stable but it behaves the same. This is what event viewer says :

I tried everything that Cubase support suggested as a possible fix but none of them changed anything. I updated the graphics driver , i re-installed NET Framework , repaired Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 , I even disabled Windows DEP but still no luck.

I don´t even use 3rd party VST plugins. Only default Cubase on a fresh installed Windows 10.

My system :

Ryzen 5 2400G

8GB RAM DDR4

Windows 10 Pro X64

This is driving me crazy. Please help.

Thanks !

Ok so after updating my BIOS and all my drivers everything seems to run smooth even if I activate the power saving features in BIOS and power saving plan in Windows. No crashes at all. This is a new thing for me becouse I wasn´t able to run Cubase without a crash for longer than 1 hour before. I think everything was driver related. With old drivers Cubase crashed randomly when power saving features were activated. I disabled them and it seem stable. But with the newer drivers Cubase doesn´t seem to care if I have them activated. So case closed. Thank you for all your help guys.

Cheers !

Other suspect windows events that may or may not be related to this :

The program WWAHost.exe version 10.0.17763.404 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.

Have you considered the new version 10 of Cubase?

I already mentioned in my initial post that I contacted with them and none of the possible solutions they provided to me helped.

Hi. It was just a temporal fix for me. The crashes started again a few days after I installed the latest drivers provided by my motherboard manufacturer on their website (AsRock). I also disabled some CPU power saving features from BIOS and selected "High Performance" power plan on Windows and tested again but Cubase was still crashing.
Steinberg support emailed me some generic possible fixes (like "check net framework 3.5" bla bla) but none of them helped. So they gave up and I was left with a product that doesn´t work properly on my system.
I tried everything I could find on the internet so at this point I just sold Cubase to somebody else because the thing was just too unstable for my system. No wonder some people nicknamed it "Bugase".
Good luck !

If you need the older version of .NET frameworks, you need to get into the control panel and there is an option to turn on windows features

.NET 3.51 is in those options
