RX 5700xt Games crashing, no audio

Hi everyone, I have this recent problem where my games would crash out of nowhere, most of the times when I tab out.

It happened in CS2, Rainbow Six Siege, as well as some other old game that also uses DirectX. I don't known if it's because of gpu API's, but they all have that in common.

Both of my screens go black for a few seconds, and I lose my audio until I restart my PC. Game also crashes, while AMD crash report pops up.

I've tried to reinstall my gpu drivers with DDU, no success. Also, my temps are normal for both cpu and gpu (up to 70C). Nothing is overclocked. Bios is updated. Latest Chipset installed.

GPU: RX 5700XT Sapphire Nitro Plus
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600
RAM: 2x16 Kingston Fury Beast on 3000mhz XMP 2.0
MBO: PRIME A320M-K
PSU: 650w Seasonic SSP-650RT

I haven't had this kind of issues before updating to 24.12.1 or updating my Windows 11 to the latest build. Only report I could find is this one.

Hi.

Some games does not work well while Alt+Tab out of the game with dual monitors (other stuff on the second monitor), if the graphics settings is set to Full screen mode.

I have had similar issues/crashes with Assassins Creed Valhalla/Odyssey, Far Cry Primal/4/5/6, Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, etc.

My solution was to change the graphics settings to Borderless window mode, and then the GPU is allowed to better handle other graphics tasks such as viewing Youtube videos and not explicit for just that particular game.

Hope this helps.

Best regards from Sweden

Hi, thanks for the reply, It's not only just that, my game just crashed because I was trying to switch from Fullscreen to Borderless. I feel like this haven't happen before.
