I just wanted to report that with driver version 20.8.3 I get a ton of crashes in certain games, testing a ton of different things I finally ran OCCT VRAM test and was able to reproduce a driver crash every time. Going back to 20.4.2 solves this issue for me.
I attached an image below of my card on the "stable" drivers. Hopefully this is the correct place and a developer can take a look at it.
Same problem. OCCT is crashing driver after few seconds but OCCT still showing 0 errors. Also random crashes in games and browser. With 20.4.1 everything is working fine. It seems that anything above 20.4.x are crashing.
There are also more people with this problem https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDHelp/comments/hrwwa7/occt_gpu_memtest_crashing_amd_driver_radeon_vii/
Spec:
Sapphire RX 580 8GB
I5 3570K@4.1GHz
Kingston DDR3 2x4GB 1600MHz
Sapphire Z77 Platinum
Windows 10 64bit Version 10.0.18363.1016 (without May 2020 update)
You need to download the new OCCT update because the vRAM was giving out false data on AMD GPU cards and crashing.
The developer of OCCT fixed the issue and updated OCCT with the new fix. So now when you run OCCT's vRAM Test it won't crash all the time and should be reliable to test AMD GPU's RAM again.
I'm assuming this forum doesn't actually get looked at, with so many people having screen flickering and driver crashes you would think a developer would step in.
