radeon-software-adrenalin-18.6.1 Driver Installation Failed to Install

Existing driver: AMD Radeon HD 7640G Version: 13.151.0.0 Date: 19 Aug 2013 (the date the OS was loaded at factory)

HW: HP Pavilion 17 Notebook PC

OS: Win 8.1 (All updates installed, except for Win10 promotionals)

I tried to install the latest driver. The driver installation failed.

I checked system. No events.

I've attached the Install Report file.

I think you will find that none of the Adrenalin drivers are supported on Win 8.1. Upgrade to Win 10 or live with an older driver.

Since Win10 provides no increase in functionality or enhancements for my computing needs, I'll stick with 8.1. I was in the process of eliminating logical possibilities in troubleshooting on another matter. Thanks for reading and replying.

Your laptop (APU ?) graphics were moved to legacy status (Nov.2015, so no new drivers for any OS).

Use the Laptop graphics update...How to​, for the last available driver.
