pls help,

my laptop (hp omen 16-n0033dx AMD Ryzen™ 7 6800H,   Radeon™ RX 6650M 8GB) for the a good few months has not been able to run games on dx12. it will run buttery like it should for a little bit then drop fps to 5 or less than and maintain that.

this not only affects the games but makes my entire laptop lag to the point where even with 1 restart it still lags, so i have to do 2 to fix it. i cant play any of my games and have to run other ones on dx11 (which also isn’t a guarantee) the only game on my laptop that ever works properly is roblox (and this will still occasionally lag).

i haven’t been able to find any sort of solution even after months of searching and im not sure how to even diagnose the problem other than the fact that any game that works off dx12 doesn’t work. (i only know due to fortnite working with dx11 and not 12)

i also noticed that discord and xbox party’s will result in the same lag taking place

i’ve even done a clean install of the latest drivers, and nothing it acts exactly the same

i’ve also learned that when this occurs the gpu usage will jump from the normal usage down to zero then back up and it does it repeatedly

another thing of note is that after a while passes it will go back to normal and everything will work fine, then it will once again go back to lagging the way previous described.

i know it’s a driver issue because this only started happening after i update my drivers (i keep them up to date, i cannot remember which driver update specifically started this)

1. Can you provide an AMDZ Report?

   - Please extract the amdz-v351.zip available from https://we.tl/t-uxGvTOaOfT
   - Run amdz.exe file as an Administrator
   - Select Save All and TXT as the output format
   - Click on the blue button to save the report
   - The .txt file will be saved in the same folder where you extracted the zipped file

Are you using “Windows 11 24H2” and/or the problems started maybe in Nov with Adrenaline 24.11.1?
The best thing to do is uninstall the Win11 build version 24H2 first... if it is installed!
Unfortunately, this build version still runs as horribly as it did on the first day of its release

AND i also would recommend you to deactivate the "Windows auto driver installation"!
Otherwise Windows Update overwrites your gpu driver with the newest version again and again

I can't remember the last time when a gpu driver from Windows Update runs without error's...

If I remember correctly, since the release of a certain Adrenaline driver version
(...24.11.1??? I'm not 100% sure if October or November) & the Windows bUg...eh update
released at the same time ^^, the number of players with DX12 problems has increased noticeably....

Have you already tried an older driver version?
Adrenaline -> 24.9.1 or 24.8.1
But it's important to delete all the old driver versions first with the "amd cleanup utility"
before installing a new one!
---> the cleanup utility tells you step by step what to do from start up.

And I would also recommend turning off "hardware acceleration" when using one of these versions to prevent possible further problems.

 "Hardware acceleration off" @ inGame, Discord, Game Launcher settings (like Steam) and also in your browser settings **if videos stutter when streaming or the browser crashes when playing**

=> With the Adrenaline versions until Oct2024, the hardware acceleration bug was the only really annoying problem for some Radeon owner's, because the range of errors that occurred was so large and seemingly unrelated ^^ 

=> Sapphire RX 6800 Pulse + Ryzen 5800x - Windows 11 Pro 23H2 - Adrenaline 24.12.1
After reinstalling twice (Freesync/enhanced-sync dont run stable after uninstalling with DDU..
=>uninstall with amd cleanup utility<= now 24.12.1 runs for me without any problems?!?! because.. meeh?! smth like magic!?! xD
