Hi guys. I´d noticed that when using Windows 10 store Netflix app, gpu goes to 1050mhz (gpu max is 1400mhz) and stays there all the time.

Tried changing streaming quality to low, but doesnt help.

Using any other video player, gpu never leave the 300Mhz gpu clock.

Problem is that using constant 1050mhz makes the gpu fan turn on from time to time to keep temps low and bother while watching a movie.

Could you please fix this behavior?

I’ve had a similar issue with high GPU usage on the Windows 10 Netflix app, particularly on the RX580. Even at lower streaming quality, the app locks the GPU clock to 1050 MHz, causing the fans to kick in, which disrupts the viewing experience. This doesn’t happen with other video players, where the GPU stays at 300 MHz. It would be really helpful if Netflix could optimize the app for more efficient GPU usage, particularly on Windows 10, so we can enjoy streaming without unnecessary fan noise. While you mentioned lowering the streaming quality, make sure the settings are set to the lowest resolution possible to minimize GPU usage. Additionally, try disabling hardware acceleration in the Netflix app (if available). Since you mentioned that other video players don't exhibit the same behavior, consider using a browser extension (like the Netflix Party extension) or the browser version of Netflix, which may not push the GPU as hard. If you can access advanced settings in the Netflix app, try disabling hardware video decoding (if available) to see if that lowers GPU usage. However, this might impact video quality or performance.

Wow, I have a 570 and it runs GTA way better at max settings. Try a clean install of the drivers. I forgot what that program was called that cleans any traces of the drivers, maybe you've heard of it.
