Hi everyone,
I've recently come across a problem whereby I'm trying to render/export a video using the Magix VEGAS Movie Studio 17.0 Platinum software and it exports the video with the incorrect colours .. It's like instead of being RGB it's BGR or GBR.. I'm converting game recorded AV1 encoding, which I have also put through Handbrake in case it was a codec issue and the result is the same.
I've read that it might be a driver issue, however is there a way around this without having to purchase another software package?
Specs
5900X, 7900XTX [23.9.3], 32GB RAM, B550 board [5.08.02.027] all with the latest chipset drivers and Adrenalin packages as indicated.
Movie Studio 17.0 Platinum.
Will appreciate any feedback or assistance.
Cheers.
THis is getting a little annoying now - we first had this error a year ago, then it got fixed, and now a couple of drivers later it got broken again. I have spent a couple of hours installing then uninstalling all the drivers, and keep having to revert back to the same old one from months ago to get it to work.
Every time I have to do a full uninstall as the factory settings is borked in the drivers, and reset all my recording relive settings, it's a nightmare....

Wowsers .. you've conducted some solid work here. It's greatly appreciated. Thanks for confirming my suspicion as I knew it had worked previously.
Here's hoping that it'll get rectified soon! It would be annoying to DDU drivers every time I want to export a video, then revert back to latest drivers for gaming improvements!

Thanks for continued responses .. I tried again with these new drivers also and as you've noted, the issue persists.
Same results on 24.3.1 .. still not resolved.
I've submitted a(nother?) bug report as of 27/03/24 AU time..
Same results on 24.4.1 .. still unresolved.
Do i just run the risk and upgrade my MAGIX software to the 2024 version??
It's over a year later, I am still using the driver from 20/7/2023 lol ... last released was 19/07/2024 !!
I'll try some of the updates, and update the table I made.
I might just have to go with not using hardware acceleration, or, like you go to another version. I don't have the money though so will have to save up some cash for Black Friday.
Thanks for taking the time again to reply .. I haven't ended up purchasing any new versions of video editing software as yet, although I need to get some footage of my kids into a longer video file soon.
I had wondered if I completely uninstall the MAGIX software [via REVO Uninstaller] and re-install it, setting it back up again would resolve the issue??
On the Magix website you can usually buy the previous years software for a heavy discount, just FYI, which is what I did with the Movie Studio 17.0 Platinum version I'm currently running.
I had no response from my bug reports that I filed. Sad times @AMD_AI
Ok .. Now I've just tried exporting two different videos and the colours are correct using Adrenalin 24.7.1. I don't know if it's related or not however I recently just purchased the HEVC Video Extensions plugin from Windows Store as I have an iPhone using their HEVC/HEIC for video and images.
That doesn't quite explain why it worked on the converted AV1 file that I recorded using the Adrenalin software. Related codec perhaps? I'm not sure.
Wow!!
I just got some free time to test, went straight to 24.8.1 which was released a few weeks ago, and it works !! No more blue->orange using hardware rendering ... YAAY !!
Thanks for letting me know it was working for you, I had some downtime due to illness and holidays after server relocations so only just got to testing, so glad I did !!
