Low performance rx6800xt in Dayz

The problem is that the card is not used 100%, often the usage varies between 20-50%, resulting in a low frame rate, a slight improvement is on drivers from 2 years ago, 21.11.3 to be exact, can't this finally be fixed once and for all? I didn't buy such a powerful card to not be able to use it 100%

Check and see if the game is running at 200% rendering resolution then change it too 100%.

If game works fine on drivers that are 2/3 years old why then it run like potato on the newest one. That should be fixed but they messed up. No one wants to rollback driver every time to be able to play.

Here are some things to consider, beyond the driver update you mentioned:

Game Optimization

  • Graphics settings: Are you pushing settings beyond what the CPU can comfortably handle? Try lowering certain settings, especially anti-aliasing and shadows, to see if the GPU utilization and frame rate improve.
  • API choice: Some games offer different rendering APIs like DirectX 11, 12, and Vulkan. Experimenting with different APIs can sometimes improve performance and utilize the GPU better.
  • Game-specific issues: Certain games might have known optimization issues or bottlenecks that limit GPU usage. Searching online for specific game + "low GPU usage" might reveal solutions or workarounds.

System Bottlenecks:

  • CPU bottleneck: An outdated or underpowered CPU can limit the GPU's ability to reach its full potential. Monitoring CPU and GPU usage while gaming can indicate if the CPU is maxed out while the GPU sits idle.
  • RAM limitations: Insufficient RAM can also cause bottleneck issues, especially in high-demand games. Ensure you have enough RAM (16GB or more recommended for modern gaming) and consider faster RAM speeds (3200MHz or higher) if using older configurations.

Other factors:

  • Background processes: Close unnecessary background applications while gaming to free up resources for the game and potentially increase GPU utilization.
  • Power settings: Ensure your laptop or PC is set to high performance mode to avoid power limitations throttling the GPU.
  • Thermal throttling: Check if your GPU is reaching high temperatures and throttling its performance. Ensure proper ventilation and consider cleaning dust from your system to improve cooling.

If you've already explored these options and the issue persists, consider seeking further assistance from:

  • Game forums or communities: Discussing your specific game and hardware configuration with other players might reveal specific solutions or optimization tips.
  • Tech support forums: Online forums dedicated to hardware and software troubleshooting can offer valuable insights and potential fixes.
  • Contacting the manufacturer: Reaching out to your GPU or laptop manufacturer's support team might provide tailored troubleshooting steps or driver recommendations.

this is about dayz other games like cyberpunk 2077, witcher 3 run on ultra at 2k resolution with no problem so it's amd that can't make drivers for 10 years for dayz nvidia cards don't have this problem
