Hello there, lately I've been having issues with ram usage. My system would randomly freeze up (I can still move the mouse) and I'll have to wait a few minutes for it to unfreeze. When I notice my system starting to freeze, I would open task manager with ctrl shift ESC, and I've discovered that the high ram usage is caused by "Radeon Settings: Host Service" and my system returns to normal after ending the process.
I've tried:
Reinstalling all my drivers (with help from DDU)
Reinstalling my GPU,
Reinstalling windows,
Disabling Live Replay
My system specs are:
XFX RX 5600XT
MSI B450 A PRO MAX
CORSAIR 2x8GB 3600Mhz
EVGA 650W platinum
Radeon Software 20.4.2
AMD RYZEN R5 3600, stock cooler
I have attached a image of my task manager(Radeon Host settings is using 12 gigabytes of memory, wow), so far this issue seems to happen randomly, and it doesn't matter what game I'm playing. Any help would be appreciated.
They had an issue with this in the past too. I have no idea if the current situation is the same. At that time turning off the banner advertisements and auto update feature helped.
See this page for how to do this: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/dh-015
If this works please let us know, it will then help other users too.
