GPU Automatic tuning vs tuning presets

Hello!

Is anyone able to describe in more detail than the latest Tune Performance post what Automatic Tuning vs Tuning Preset do under GPU tuning (Performance -> Tuning: GPU section, Tuning Control subsection)?

My hunch is that a Tuning Preset is a static set of values applied to the GPU, whereas Automatic Tuning is either dynamic and/or learning.  Is that correct?  Does Automatic Tuning change dynamically in response to stress or does it have some sort of training/learning period (e.g. several minutes/hours/days after being set) and then apply static values based on that training?

Regarding the Tuning Presets, does anyone know what the settings actually are for these modes: Quiet, Balanced, Rage?

In context, I am looking to undervolt my GPU, both to save power, but also to allow for lower, quieter fan speeds.  I was going to manually undervolt; however, I'm new to all this.  If Undervolt GPU Automatic Tuning does this pretty much on its own, maybe that would be better for me.  However, does that also reduce the fan curve?

On the flip side, the Quiet Tuning Preset states "Enables quiet operation with lower power and fan settings" which suggests that maybe this is also undervolting the GPU in addition to reducing fan speeds.  Would that perhaps be better than the Automatic Tuning for my purposes?

Thanks!
Michael
