I have HP laptop with Intel HD Graphics 3000 + AMD 6770M.
Catalyst 14.4 is the last version support fixed graphics scheme.
This driver works completely fine in Windows 7 and Windows 8.
However for Windows 8.1! :
As, Intel HD Graphics 3000 driver only supports WDDM 1.2 and AMD 6770M supports WDDM 1.3.
Backlight is not working when AMD cards is active. I think problem is related to WDDM incompatibility.
I tried to find a way to force WDDM 1.2 for AMD driver. However, I have no luck. I think two files are responsible for WDDM model:
1. atikmdag.sys (Kernel Modeset)
2. atikmpag.sys (Multi-Vendor Miniport)
Driver gets windows version info with RtlGetVersion() function.
Is there any KMD command for inf file? Or is there any Windows trick to make AMD driver thinks windows version is 8.
