A few months agor I´ve bought an Acer notebook (Aspire 5, with Radeon R7 integrated video card). But after a little while this BSoD started happening when I get the power cable off. Every time I take the cable out, in less than 30 seconds, BSoD occurs.
Already entered on Acer support and tried everything they suggested, to the point of totally restoring windows installation. Then the problem stopped.
After that, I started slowly updating drivers and testing where the problem would come from. Updated windows and for weeks, everything was ok. Same for other systems, until I updated the video card, yesterday.
The problem restated instantaneously after the update. The factory driver installed I checked was around 1.7.2
Any thing I can do to solve this? Thanks in advance.
It depends...what processor/APU do you have? https://community.amd.com/thread/196209
Hi,
Its an ACER Aspire 5 (A515-41g-13U1) with
AMD Quad-core Processor A12-9720P
Radeon RX 540 with 2Gb dedicated VRAM (but strangely the device manager shows 2 drivers for me in system, an R7 and the RX 540)
As it should " (but strangely the device manager shows 2 drivers for me in system, an R7 and the RX 540)"
Laptop graphics update...How to ...Let me read it to you:
Laptops have different requirements/procedures than desktop computers when updating graphics drivers. It all depends on the processors....either Intel or AMD.
For laptops with AMD processors/APU's:
You do not update the discrete graphics card...you update the APU. This updated driver serves both the integrated and discrete graphics. It is the only driver you install. It is important to know the integrated graphics on some APU's...
