I have RX480 and I've been trying to install AMD drivers on Windows 10 1903.
Unfortunately every time I run the driver installation the screen flickers and then goes black and never comes back.
Rebooting the system boots into a black screen. The only solution is to boot into Safe Mode and use DDU to clean the badly installed drivers out.

I have tried the following:

1. Reinstalled windows onto a fresh installation of Windows 10 Pro version 1903
2. Tried driver versions Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.8.2 Optional and Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.5.2
3. Re-seated the graphics card
4. Performed an MSI Kombustor benchmark (no issues)

It seems that there seems to be an issue with AMD drivers running on the recently released 1903 Windows 10 version.

Please could you confirm if this is the case and when we can expect a working driver version for this OS.

I have exactly the same issue since updating to Windows 10 1903 (which I did in July)

For now the only stable solution I found is using AMD cleanup utility and then installing the default drivers provided by windows update, which are from 2017... (date: 24/04/2017 version: 22.19.162.4).

In the last days I tried the following Adrenalin drivers, all causing BSODs:

  • old: 400 Watt be quiet! Pure Power 9

  • new: 650 Watt corsair RM650x v2 (swapping PSU did not help)

  • 2x8GB G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4-3200 CL16
