Hi,

I am trying to install Win 10/11 on a Gigabyte B450M K with samsung evo M.2 nvme sata.

Disk is recognized in BIOS.

Whether i choose "Enable RAID" or not, which i suppose is AHCI, the installers are not finding any disk to install to.

I tried to load Gigabyte's RAID drivers with no success.

Any suggestions?

Not sure but in BIOS to enable RAID you need to select RAID and not AHCI mode. But maybe that has changed since the last time I checked in BIOS. Not familiar with RAID.

Also I would download the latest AMD CHIPSET Driver for your motherboard that includes RAID app and drivers: https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am4/b450

Make sure your SSD is compatible with your M.2 slot.

Also upgrade your BIOS version if it isn't the latest one.

If still having issues I would open a AMD SUPPORT TICKET - https://www.amd.com/en/forms/contact-us/support.html and a GIGABYTE SUPPORT TICKET concerning your SSD and RAID.

NOTE: I have been seeing several Users having issues with installing RAID on their motherboards lately. Maybe one of those Users will comment on this thread.

Unfortunately none of these suggestions can solve the problem.

Bios is updated to latest available version.

Gigabyte and AMD support don't seem able to provide a solution either. 

I would like to comment that AMD drivers can't be loaded during Windows installer setup.

For this, .inf files are required but are not included in .exe files available from AMD website.

Disabled/enabled, doesn't make any difference.

Are you using one NVMe drive or two? Should not need RAID enabled nor any RAID drivers if only using one drive.

What version is your installation media? You could try downloading Windows PE (Pre-installation Environment) and create boot media for that, it has disk partitioning tools to help setup your drive.

This motherboard support's only one M.2 sata.

Installation media used from Microsoft download site (latest version available as of today) for win10&11. Both versions tested.

Disk part & ntfs tools are also available from within installation media by pressing Shift+f10. The drive is not recognized by windows so there is nothing to do with diskpart. The disk is not there.

That's because the driver needed for the system to recognize the M.2 sata is missing.

Hey,

I am facing the exact same issue; when trying to install Win10, no disks are detected.
The disk is also detected in the BIOS. I have tried adjusting the configurations as suggested in the comments, but it has not worked yet.

Have you made any progress on resolving this issue?

Setup:
* AMD Ryzen 5 5600

* ASRock B450m Pro4 R2.0 
* TeamGroup MP33 1TB

Does changing boot device order in BIOS make any difference?

Ok, sorry to say this, but this is just plain wrong.

If you don't use Raid, don't use that option in the BIOS. Just use ahci. Raid is a whole different thing for mirroring data for example(Raid means=Redundant Array of Independent Disks, raid 0,1 etc).

If you only got one drive  just don't use that and stop messing with that raid setting in the bios.
