This chipset driver fails with error "MainEngineThread is returning 1603" - can't see what the issue is.
uninstall the old version, restart the computer and try installing again, this usually helps
ellolait - thanks for the suggestion, but I can't find a way to uninstall the chipset drivers (others, yes, just not the chipset).
MainEngineThread is returning 1603 is spawned by the installer routine when there is a file in use that cannot be replaced
boot into safe mode and remove the old driver package
