After updating Adrenalin (24.12.1), the computer occasionally restarts when alt-tabbing.
In the Event Viewer, the following error is logged:
In the past, a complete reinstallation of drivers resolved the issue, but this time it doesn’t help.
Initially, I suspected a hardware problem with the PC components, but stress tests using FurMark, Prime95, and MemTest revealed no issues.
I don’t remember which driver version I was using previously, so if the issue cannot be resolved for this version, I would appreciate a recommendation for an optimal driver version to install.
First you might have a under powered PSU for your RX 7700XT. According to AMD that GPU needs a minimum PSU of 700 watts.
Try disabling in Radeon Settings the Hot Key feature and see if that stops the PC from shutting down.
I would stress test your CPU and GPU using OCCT plus stress testing the PSU.
See if the PC crashes in any of those 3 stress tests. OCCT is good for checking PC stability. During the testing keep an eye on Temperatures, Fan Speeds, and PSU Outputs.
I ran tests in OCCT, and everything went well. The CPU reached a maximum temperature of 90°C and a voltage of 70 watts. The GPU had a temperature of 71°C and a voltage of 200 watts.
As per your advice, I disabled hotkeys in the Adrenalin settings. I also adjusted the settings to reduce the GPU's power consumption. However, before conducting the tests, the computer rebooted again, even though only the browser and Discord were open.
This might not be relevant, but it seems that every time the computer rebooted, it happened when I switched to Discord.
For the past 7 days, I’ve been using the browser version of Discord—zero restarts so far. I’ll try reinstalling drivers/Discord or rolling back to previous versions. If anything fixes the issue, I’ll post an update.
I wonder what's going on with the Discord app that is causing the reboot issue. Please let us know if rolling back to a previous version solves the problem
