Hi. I bought first radeon card - 6600xt. I noticed that when i toggle overlay in game. Power consumption increse from 40W to 80-90W, and i hear new noise from videocard (fans is off). Also i hear the same noise and consumption increses, when "radeon super resolution (RSR)) is on.  Please, help, how can solve that problem. 

Update: i guess, that noise appears when consumption became more than 50 W, but what cause high consumprion of overlay and rsr?

Noise is either fans or coil whining. Coil whining happens under times when few factors combined:
1. High GPU Core clock frequency
2. High rendering fps
3. High power consumption
4. Bad input and/or output filtering (this is more of a PCB issue). 
Coil whine is pretty harmless (even though can be bit annoying if loud). 

About power consumption depends on a game. It may be such, that when you open overlay your FPS gets uncapped from 60 to current montor refresh rate. Better have more data with such values as FPS, Core freq, Core utilisation, Power consumption, CPU utilisation and game where this is happening
About RSR cannot say anything for now. Need more data to work on.

Try undervolt it. It will ease the GPU while you still has optimize fps on game.

I didnt solved this problem. Noise at high consumption is common thing, but overlay shouldnt increase consumption so much. I guess problem is in driver or adrenalin app.

My overlay are increasing the comsumption and the clocks.i tried a ddu and nothing solved this yet my gpu just up the clocks with overlay but noise is so bad

2 years later but im also experiencing the same thing I think? I got a rx6600 and after almost a year it started making a noise,which gets louder with amd overlay open, while also increasing my temps,power usage and rpm,my card still works fine but its stressful to see and idk if it will get worse
