Recently bought an RX 7900 GRE Steel Legend OC to replace the px 5700.

The problem does not occur in all games, but only in War thunder and Genshin impact , and also in Vr games. 

The problem occurs in the game from 1 minute to 10 minutes. Black screen, freeze, crash,  driver timeout

I tried several versions of the driver, on some the game continued but there was a black or white screen

Playing Deadlock, Satisfactory, Hearthstone on maximum graphics settings there were no crashes

What could be the problem  ?

Reinstalled on windows 11 pro

I tried everything from overclocking, changing drivers, various windows settings, changing graphics in the game to the minimum

installing a clean driver without amd software did not help

ssd m2 adata 1t  ( the problem is not with it, before reinstalling windows, there was another ssd and there was the same error )

7900 GRE - that the answer.

No joke.  I thought that driver timeout its exclusive to my 7900 xtx. Well i was wrong. You need solution? Iam afraid you probably don't like it.

Did you guys try logging temps with HWINFO64 (just run it in the background and see what the max temps are for both the GPU and the HOTSPOT)?   Additionally, tried setting the powerlimit to -10 and see if it buys any stability?

I have a SAPPHIRE RX 7900 GRE PURE (stock out of the box settings). I've created a thread with a list of games that work (like CYBERPUNK 2077, for example—I can play for days without any timeouts) and a list of games that don't (which always trigger an amduw23g event ID 4101 display timeout)

I tested on GENSHIN IMPACT and just had two timeouts in a row. I ran the test with HWFINO64, and here are the temperatures (timeout happened between 00:22 and 00:23). According to the hotspot chart for the 7900GRE, I seem to be within the normal range (66°C for the GPU and 82°C for the Hotspot, according to TechPowerUp).

I think some games are just not stable on the RX 7900 GRE right now; for example, all MIHOYO games. If anyone else with an RX 7900 GRE can confirm this about GENSHIN/HSR/ZZZ, it would help verify the issue.

I also can't play GOTHAM KNIGHTS or MAD MAX (2015), but unfortunately, I don't think anyone cares about these games anymore on an AMD GPU, so I’m not expecting any support for them.

Well i cant play space marine 2 and dragons dogma 2. this two games crashing hard on my rx 7900 xtx. Unplayable. 3d mark stress test passed. With rtx and without. I got 3 full 20 loop test... If 24.10.1 drivers doesn't fix that, than rtx 5080 will fix it.

It's not just the GRE, I have a 7800 XT and was getting driver timeouts in ZZZ. 24.9.1 seemed to cause the driver timeouts. All I can suggest is revert back to 24.8.1 and wait for the next driver to hopefully fix the issue with Mihoyo games.

I also have had driver timeout problems.  It seems like I found a fix for that error.  I recently disabled UPLS with msi afterburner and my driver timeout errors have seemed to have stopped.  Hopefully this can help you.
