6800XT Black Screen & Drivers Crashing

Hi,

I recently have been having an issue with my RX 6800XT XFX MERC where my screens will turn black, but I can still hear audio in the background. The only thing I can do is Power off my computer and when I turn it back on my graphics card is disabled. I will re-enable it and restart again and it works until the same thing happens again.

Looking at the event log this is the error I get.

This event always happens right before it happens.

Event ID 400 happens and then it seems to cause the Event ID 411 error to happen.

I installed the graphics card on 3/16 and it appears to have happened then, and it started happening on 4/18 repeatedly

Things I have tried.

1) DDU & Reinstall current drivers

2) DDU & Install Original drivers (XFX recommended I do this, This caused the screen to flicker and then the same thing happened)

3) Disable auto-driver updates in Windows

4) Disable AMD Crash defender ( read somewhere this helped someone with a similar problem)

5) Changed wall outlets for my computer

6) Removed and reseated GPU and RAM (at first thought it might be a hardware issue, but I think it is software)

It seems to happen completely at random, I don't know how to force it to happen. Sometimes I will be playing a game (Valorant, League of Legends, BF 2042), sometimes working or surfing the internet.

System:

GPU: XFX Merc 6800XT

CPU: 5800X3d

PSU: Corsair 750W Gold

RAM: Corsair 3200 MHz 16GB

Mobo: MSI X470 Gaming Plus

On 3/16 I swapped CPU, GPU and PSU, used to have a 1660TI and 2600x with a 500W PSU.

I don't have a ton of knowledge about this stuff so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Normally the 411 error can be ignored, all those entries show each time you install drivers. For some reason Windows forgets to tell you it is running.

Have a look in 'windows reliability history monitor', look for red, yellow symbols. Expands them to see fault message.

You moved old drives to new build?,could be previous drivers from other setup conflicts.

Have you updated bios, chipset drivers, deleted old Ryzen power plans, used DDU to remove leftover nvidia software/drivers.
