After installing 22.7.1.
I can get legacy to work, however the current build will not progress past the "click to start," prompt.
I verified files, ran DDU and reinstalled current drivers.
I changed between fullscreen, windowed borderless and windowed.
I turned off HDR, and turned off Variable Refresh Rate, trying to play with every change individually.
I came across a thread on Reddit and it seems this issue is effecting quite a few other people.
I have no issues with any other games that I have played. It is specifically this game. I am hoping a patch is put out because I don't like the idea of rolling back my drivers just to play one game.
Is anyone else having issues like this? Is there a fix without rolling back drivers? Am I overlooking a setting that I should change?
My build:
Gigabyte RX 6800XT Gaming OC - Stock
Ryzen 7 3700X - Stock
4x8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 3200Mhz
MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge WIFI
Corsair H100i Elite Capellix 240MM AIO
WDBlack SN750 1TB NVMe PCIe 3.0 M.2 SSD
Crucial P2 500GB NVMe PCIe 3.0 M.2 SSD
Crucial MX500 1TB SATA SSD
Corsair RM850x 850Watt PSU
Others reportedly have this issue as well.

The issue with Project Zomboid has been fixed in 22.8.1 and 22.8.2.
I'm having issues with AMD Radeon RX 6600 driver version 22.7.1. The issues that I had are as below--
For now, I have reverted back to 22.6.1 and it's working fine.
A work around to get Project Zomboid to work is to launch the game in windowed mode making sure the window is smaller than your desktop resolution, and when the game says "click to start", after making your character, click and when the game seems to freeze maximize the window.
