Help! My Laptop Screen is Having a Rave Party (AMD Radeon RX 6700M, Windows 11)

Hi everyone,

I've been trying to solve this issue by searching on Google and reading through this forum, but I’m still struggling. I have a laptop with an AMD Radeon RX 6700M, and for the past few months, ever since an update, the laptop screen has been flickering like crazy at both 240Hz and 60Hz. However, my second screen (connected externally) works perfectly fine.

If I recall correctly, when I uninstalled the display drivers and AMD Adrenalin software, the laptop screen worked fine for a few seconds. But then Windows 11 automatically updated the drivers, and the flickering issue returned.

I’d love to use both screens again without any problems. Can anyone help me out with a step-by-step tutorial or guide to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

The latest Adrenalin driver (24.12.1) is recommend for your laptop's RX 6700M, so I would do the following:

(1) Download the latest Adrenalin driver from AMD's website here.

(2) Use DDU in Windows Safe Mode to uninstall the previous drivers,  then install the new driver you downloaded.

(3)  Reboot and see if that works.

(4) If not, look into Freesync settings with the Radeon driver software.
