I went team red with a new build last december. Not 100% sure on the exact models of everything, but its along these lines
ASRock b650e
MSI 7800xt
7800x3d
32gb DDR5 6000
Corsair 750e
Windowd 10
For the past year i havent really had any issues until now. On friday i installed the 24.10.1 drivers for BO6. They worked fine friday night and saturday. This morning I had a fitefox crash and then eventually black screened.
Everytime I boot up I eventually black screen. Sometimes i dont even make it to login, other times i can get into a game and play for sometime prior to crashing.
Things I have tried, DDU reinstall of the drivers, although my most recent attempt ended up with windows auto installing the drivers even tho i explicitly set the policy not to. I have tried setting a max clock speed on my gpu in adrenaline. I also turned off expo ram and turned it to stock timings
Part of me thinks its not necessarily the drivers, one of the times i was trying to reinstall the drivers it crashed while installing. It has crashed while trying to run DDU. Is that an indication of a hardware issue? Just wierd that i havent had an issue up until now when i installed the drivers.
Just at a loss as to what i should be doing. Should i just try and upgrade to windows 11 or do a fresh windows install? Is it gonna be a rma angle or something else?
I might consider just upgrading to Windows 11 to start with, but you should first go back to the Adrenalin 24.9.1 driver to see if you have a stable system once again.
Was able to get 24.8.1 installed and right as it finished and i clicked to launch adrenaline, pc crashed. This is what makes me think its a hardware thing, but the reality is its only just started happening after updating my drivers on friday.
When I start up mt pc im lucky to be able to open firefox before it just crashes.
Did you by any chance upgrade to Windows 11 24H2? I had some issues with it and many others did too. If at all possible I would look into getting KB5044384 update as that fixed my issues.
If this isn't an option, and you don't have anything too important on the PC, reinstalling Windows using the Windows Media Creation tool and a USB would be my next step to rule out software conflicts causing the issue.
ASRock B650E what? Is your motherboards BIOS up to date?
Are you running separate power cables from your power supply to each power input on your GPU?
Have you tested with another PSU?
How are your CPU/GPU temps?
What kind of cooling on your 7800X3D?
Reseat your CPU and check for burnt marks on contact points of CPU
Do you have the latest AM5 chipset drivers installed from AMD.com?
Check for firmware updates for your SSDs
Disable the IGP of the 7800X3D if not in use.
