I am building a new computer, I will be using a 78003d as my cpu on a x670e mono. I will be purchasing a GPUs soon and i don’t know what to get, hellhound, red devil, sapphire + etc. if you had 5-750 to spend what would you get and why
what is the difference between the different types in the naming, hellhoud, red devil etc.
Before you say, "I have $XXX to spend" I would instead say, "I want to game at XXXX resolution, at XXX refresh rate" and gauge your hardware needs from there.
I want to game at 1440, My monitor can handle 165 hz, it will be ram on a 7800x3d, and a x670e mobo. 32 gb ram.
The 7900XT is more than plenty for 1440p gaming, especially given your CPU. And as @BigAl01 says, it's nearly 7900XTX performance at a discount. But unless you're considering going to 4K soon, a 7900GRE or even 7800XT would work just as well.
Regarding the various partner card naming, it's all just marketing. It typically indicates some sort of upsell, either better cooling solution and/or higher clock speeds, and sometimes a longer warranty period. Used to be with 2-slot blower style fan coolers, partner models offered significant improvements in cooling, but the reference designs have been quite good the last few generations. The last card I owned that I had to change out the cooler was the R9 290X.
In fact, if money is tight, I found that the RX 7800 XT is a very good card for 1440p gaming. I got one for about $500 USD - $200 cheaper than the RX 7900 XT video cards I bought for my other computers.
I am a big fan of the RX 7900 XT series from AMD and their partners. I have three installed and running 1440p with no issues. One is from AMD, one is a PowerColor Hellhound RX 7900 XT, and the other is a Sapphire Pulse RX 7900 XT. I wasn't willing to shell out almost $1K USD for the XTX series. It was hard enough spending around $700 USD for these video cards.
I also have a 7900XT on my other rig and its a great GPU for the resolution you want to game at
