Minecraft JAVA Performance is Horrible on my 6900XT

The 6900XT is a beast for all this AAA 4K Glory, dont get me wrong. But as much as I enjoy all these Games i quite enjoy Minecraft as well.

To bad it runs like total ASS on the 6900XT. Even on 1080p.

After A LOT of Tesing I can say that this is most definetly a Driver Issue.

Does not matter if 250 Mod Modpack or Vanilla 1.16.5... FPS are Low. And I am talking 30FPS low.

And my Card? Chills between 50mhz & 500mhz. No matter what crazy Shaderpacks I throw at it.

Just... Refuses to work hard.

Do I really have to Install Linux in Dual Boot to get my Minecraft fix?

I FIXED IT.

Well. More like a Workaround.

Forcing GFX MIN Clock to 1200 via MorePowerTool gives me Whopping 600FPS in Vanilla.

AMD Please fix.

You didn't mention your computer hardware especially the Make & Model of your CPU which is the most important hardware for playing Minecraft.

Minecraft utilizes the CPU more than the GPU.  In another words, Minecraft is CPU intensive game rather than a GPU intensive game.

This previous tech thread helps explain from 2020: https://linustechtips.com/topic/1233343-solved-how-does-minecraft-utilize-the-cpu-gpu/

This Minecraft WiKi explains plus shows Minimum and Recommended hardware to run the game:https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Java_Edition

Note: have you tried to open a thread at the game's developer's site?

Ture. Missed out on that part.

Tested the Card in minecraft both on my Ryzen 9 3900X System and in my threadripper 1950x workstation.

Both run not so good.

If i swap out the RX 6900 XT from the 3900X System with the 2080ti from the Threadripper Workstation I get almost 400FPS in Vanilla Minecraft.

AMD Please fix.

Hey, good to know.

Please mark you last reply as "Solution" so other will know what you did to fix your Minecraft issue with AMD driver installed.

Also let AMD SUPPORT know either through Radeon Settings Bug Report or opening a AMD Service Request : https://www.amd.com/en/support/contact-email-form

That way AMD can try and replicate your issue and formulate a fix in future AMD driver versions.

I tried the solution but can't get it to work with MPT. The frequency change doesn't save with write SPPT and if I try to load the BIOS file with RBE, it sais that it's not supported. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Can you help me?
