Can the Ryzen 5 3500U on laptops output 3440x1440?

Hello there,

I have a Huawei Matebook D14 with Ryzen 3500U which has the Vega integrated GPU, and a HDMI 1.4 port on it.

My problem is, outputting to a WQHD monitor specifically one of their own, Huawei Mateview GT34, which supports max 3440x1440, however, using either 1.4 HDMI or 2.0 HDMI cables, I still cannot output from the laptop above 2560x1440.

Is there any way to fix this? I realize the limitation is on the bandwidth side of the port, however, less than 4K on a hdmi port even for 1.4 should be no problem.

And before you ask, no, the laptop's USB C port is only 2.0 and doesn't support DP on it, confirmed with their support.

Radeon™ RX Vega 10 Graphics is fully capable of supporting 4K@60Hz, so 3840x1440@60Hz (min. 9.95 Gbps) should not be a problem. However your laptop has an output of HDMI 1.4b with a max. supported total bandwidth of 10.2 Gbps, which is way too close to 9.95 Gbps. I guess you have a bandwidth issue.

I see. Don't suppose there's a way to ninja force an override?

I mean, there is indeed a thing worthy of mention and that is, this specific Huawei Monitor has a higher height resolution actually than 1440, they made it so, that you have better pixel density in the max resolution of 3440x1440. If that is the case, I'm guessing, the transmission is actually above 3440x1440, more like above that 9.5 Gb/s thus why this is an issue.

Thank you for your help with this, this has been very helpful
