I recently started noticing some issues with my games stuttering/hitching. I had these issues in the past, maybe I was just crazy but I swear they were resolved. But it's become very noticeable again. At this point I'm thinking of just switching back to nvidia and calling it quits...
Regardless, what I have noticed is that when the game stutters the Core clock speed dips very rapidly, as well as the power consumption:
This screenshot was taken with MSI Afterburner, but I've seen similar results with AMD Adrenaline in the past.
Is this normal? Is my power supply the issue? My CPU? Ram? I have no idea, and I'm so done with having to deal with this.
There doesn't seem to be a correlation with CPU usage and these sudden spike drops in fps, but I have no idea.
Specs:
GPU: 6950xt (Stock)
CPU: i9-9900k
RAM: Trident Z Neo Series 32GB DDR4 3600MHz
Storage: WD Black SN850 2TB NVMe.
Mother Board: Asus PRIME z390a
Power Supply: Corsair RM1000
