Hello,
Quick intro regarding my issue:
At the beginning of this year, I decided to build a new PC and started with PSU and GPU. And had issues with the black screen and system reboot sometimes.
I've brought this card to the nearest service to validate this video card. The response was it's fine maybe your PC is so weak and old for this card.
Old sys specs:
Motherboard Asus m5a99fx pro 2.0, amd fx6300, ddr 3, (new PSU - Seasonic Focus 1000) and this video card (xfx speedster qick 319 amd radeon rx 6800)
Having this answer from the service I've decided to finish gathering all the required components for a completely new PC and after that try it again.
Finally, in a few months, I've bought everything :
Aorus b650 PRO, Seasonic focus 1000w, r7 7700x, Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5-6000 CL40 2x16GB, and this GPU, Arctic ARCTIC FREEZER Liquid II 420, Phanteks Eclipse P600S Silent Matte
So from my perspective, this system doesn't look like this spec is weak or struggles from hot airflow, however, I still see pretty much the same issue:
It works more or less stable under the high GPU load (in games and stress tests like Furmark, sometimes given didn't throw a black screen for a day) but once you ALT+Tab the game or press Esc or close or pause the Stress test while it's still running it will throw black screen with a reboot with very high chance (70%)
Again with my old 1050Ti this system works well. I tried to play with drivers for the GPU and chipset and MB bios updates but nothing was changed.
I brought again the whole system to the service, explained the issue and we were able to reproduce it in a few minutes. After that service took PC for a week. They tried to play with drivers and bios and win 10 / 11, with different PSU and RAMs, also tried to use this GPU on other AMD and Intel systems, output was the following:
My PC works fine with other GPUs (RX 6700XT and Nvidias) however XFX RX 6800 works stable on some other systems with both Intel and AMD. So there we no suggestion how to resolve this issue.
Interested to hear your thoughts.
Thanks!
