workstation build

After nearly 10 years of service, I am going to retire my AMD Phenom II X4 965-based system.

I use:

  • Dreamweaver CC
  • CorelDraw & CorelPhotoPaint
  • Lots of browser-based work
  • Office 365
  • An irregular amount of work in Adobe Premiere Elements CC

What does the community recommend for an upgrade for CPU, motherboard, RAM and graphics for a dual monitor setup?  I am looking for value-for-money, not wishing to break the bank.

Thanks

Not a bad combo deal from Chinese Newegg. As for the graphics card, that's going to depend on if you need 10bpc support in Adobe, which requires a Fire series professional card.

Minimum 2400g or 1600. If you can afford graphics card, 2600,1600x,1700 sounds about right. Otherwise 2400g would probably do what's needed and save some money.

Can you recycle your current graphics card and would it be powerful enough? If not, entry cards are around $100 (1030 nvidia, or rx 550) and better ones a little upwards of $150 right now (rx 560).
