Just what it says. So i have a 4k samsung ultrawide monitor, windows resolution is 3440 x1440. using HDMI cable. Seems fine for some time but specifically i'm playing "state of decay 2" and it should pull its resolution from windows 11, and it did for some time. Then (admittingly after a power loss) i'd launch the game and monitor flickers, goes to power save mode and then bam! everything tops out at 1080 x 768. The first time this happened i can get windows back by simply unplugging the hdmi and back in, but launching the game and it all reverts back to 1080. I found a solution which was in the game settings to go from fullscreen to windowed. Worked for awhile. Now it's happening again, i can't find it happening with another game... but if it was just the game why does windows itself lose the 3440 ability until i reset the hdmi?
Tomorrow i'm trying display port instead, I don't know if that will handle things better. Any advice as i'm relatively novice i appreciate it.
